The long weekend is officially upon us, which calls for epic snags, catch-ups with mates and merry times all around. Never fear, we’ve got your long weekend covered right here at South Bank.
Australia Day at South Bank
This Sunday from 2pm to 6pm, enjoy free live music set amongst the spectacular setting of River Quay at Sunday Social on the Green. The event offers punters sweeping city and river views, while delighting in quintessential Australia Day spreads (did someone say delicious takeaway hampers from River Quay Fish, The Jetty, Popolo and Aquitaine?) Once you’ve finished up at Sunday Social, grab a seat at one of South Bank’s restaurants and complete your experience with a colourful Australia Day firework display at 7:30pm.*
Australia Day at Munich Brauhaus
Celebrate the Australia Day long weekend the Munich Brauhaus way! Ditch the backyard BBQ and swap your snags for bratwursts and your tinnies for steins of cold beer! This weekend, you can expect a limited-edition Aussie Schnitzel, a golden crumbed chicken schnitzel topped with a fried egg, bacon, Australian cheddar and served with a side of chips. The Aussie Wurst, a giant bratwurst loaded with grilled onions, cheese and tomato sauce. And the Aussie Burger, with lettuce, tomato, onion, beetroot and a secret sauce served with chips.
Australia Day at The Charming Squire
The Charming Squire think there’s nothing more Australian than celebrating with a few mates over a good old-fashioned Australia Day barbie (with a cold beverage in hand, of course). So, this Australia Day, Executive Chef Deniz Coskun has invited some of his mates around for a BBQ – and they just so happen to be some of Brisbane’s top chefs. Join The Charming Squire from 1pm to 4pm on Sunday 26 January for an Australia Day long lunch. You and the crew will be feasting on a share menu curated and prepared by renowned chefs Deniz Coskun, Tony Tierney, Steve Hursey and Jason Anderson.
Australia Day at South Beach Social
Celebrate Australia Day by the beach at South Beach Social! Enjoy a $2 sausage sizzle all day or FREE with pint of house beer or large glass of house wine. There will also be live music from The 3 Little Pigs from 2pm to 7pm, and a front-row seat to the fireworks at 7:30pm.
Australia’s Poshest Sausage Sizzle
On Monday 27 January, join Stokebar Q for the ultimate Australia Day weekend wind-down featuring a sausage sizzle, live music and epic city skyline views. The entire menu will be matched to Balter’s range of craft beers. PLUS, you can enjoy DJs in venue from 2pm to 6pm.
