Over twenty venues nationally will be taking part in this year’s New Zealand Craft Beer Symposium which runs from Saturday 6th – Monday 8th February.
Among them is our very own Tippler’s Tap who will have some of the best craft beers on tap direct from the most prominent independent New Zealand breweries. We have our recommendations for you on the best pairings from the menu that you need to be sampling this weekend …
Classic and with all the trimmings, this bad boy features a freshly grilled beef patty, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, tomato sauce and is complete with American mustard.
Best paired with…Pale Ale which has an understated hoppy flavour that matches well with the beef.
On tap this weekend: Panhead – White Wall White Pale, Garage Project – Hapi Daze.
If you’re after something light, Tippler’s sliders are right up your alley! Choose between grilled chicken, cheeseburger, mini reuben, haloumi or pulled pork. Be warned though, these moreish morsels are addictive!
Paired With… Pilsners which are a great summer beer, are light to medium bodied with citrus notes and have just the right amount of tang to enhance the flavour of the sliders!
On tap this weekend: Hop Federation – El Nino Summer Pilsner, Epic – Pilsner.
Grandma Kennedy’s Chilli
This is one recipe we are most certainly glad got passed down. Grandma Kennedy’s famous chilli features beef and bean chili with cheese, sour cream, chives and rye bread. Guaranteed to make you go back for seconds.
Best paired with…IPA’s which complement spicy food due to their bitterness.
On tap this weekend: 8 Wired – Super Dank IPA, Panhead – The Vandal.
