Australia Day at South Bank

The Australia Day countdown is officially on, and if you’re anything like us, you want to lock down your plans STAT (cue your pals with very little patience). Stress no more, fellow ‘strayans! We’ve got you covered with our Australia Day on the Green.

There’s no better way to enjoy our city’s world-class climate on Australia Day than relishing in free, laid back, live music and fine food from River Quay restaurants.

There will also be free lawn games and funky chill out seating on the lush River Quay Green, so you can relax in true ‘strayan style as you take in the spectacular Brisbane views.

And that’s not all, party planners! Watch a free and colourful Australia Day fireworks display at 7.30pm. For the first time, the display will feature six pyrotechnic jet ski performers – launching fireworks while they perform right in front of River Quay Green!

The best part? The celebration is on Saturday, which means you have the whollleeeee long weekend to wind down and recover from the week that was. Thank us later!

We’ll see you there at 1pm on Saturday, January 26!

*Essential information: South Bank Parklands is an alcohol-free space on Australia Day, including the usually licensed areas of River Quay Green, Picnic Island and Riverside Green. Restaurants and bars with liquor licenses at South Bank will be serving alcohol within their establishments.
