South Bank’s Brunch Bucket List

Oh, the magnificently gluttonous and delectable combination of the breakfast and lunch worlds. Look no further, we’ve done the tough work and have hunted down the best brunches in South Bank.

The Jetty
There’s nothing like the smell of fresh breakfast fair and spectacular city and river views on a Sunday morning. With all The Jetty’s dishes packed to the brim with flavour, this restaurant gets our brunch-loving hearts racing with their weekend breakfast offering. Try the Potato Gems Benny, filled to the brim with eggs, spinach, homemade hollandaise and potato gems, and you’ll be impressed.

Espresso Garage
Need to have brunch on-the-go? Espresso Garage has answered your prayers! Nestled in an unassuming nook between Grey and Little Stanley Streets, this hole-in-the-wall is a caffeine-addict’s failsafe haven for a quality brew. The best part? They serve up delicious eats too – hello, fresh breaky muffins and tasty scrambled eggs!

River Quay Fish
River Quay Fish is one of our favourite places to do breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinner AND dessert, and not just for its incredible riverfront location. Think: wholesome classics like eggs benny with haloumi and big breakfasts. The disappointment is real if you miss out, trust us.

Barbossa Bar
One of South Bank’s best-kept brunch secrets lays hidden at Barbossa Bar. A destination with a cosy ambience, all your brunch favourites (hello avo smash, goodbye mortgage!) are available every weekend from 7am, making the perfect start to the day. You can thank us later.

Denim Co.
This one’s for the food-stagrammers! Denim Co. offers picture perfect, colour-laden dishes that taste just as good as they look. If we HAD to pick a must-try (the whole menu would do!) we suggest the Banana Split, made with waffles, banana, caramel, cream and honey nut crunch. Yep, you heard us correctly!

Lost Bean
Lost Bean know what’s up when it comes to a delicious breakfast (and cup of coffee, too). Whether you’re after a grab-and-go banana bread or muffin (made in house!) or eggs benedict made to order, this is the place for you. Plus, you won’t be disappointed by their coffee served from some of Brisbane’s best baristas.

Coco Bliss
Want to go all out on your brunch, minus the guilt? Fear no more, because Coco Bliss has your back with pure, nutritious and raw whole-foods in the form of delicious acai bowls, raw treats, juices and smoothies. With a predominately raw, vegan, gluten free and refined sugar free menu, you’ll forget it’s as healthy as it is. Sold.

Dot. Espresso
Oh how we adore you, Dot. Espresso. Dot’s uncomplicated and delicious menu offers home-style favourites such as bagels and toasties. The real winner? Their fresh juices. Trust us, you’ll be going back to try every combination under the sun.

Nonna’s Deli
If you ever need convincing that Italian truly is the greatest feel-good food, Nonna’s Deli is here to remind you that it’s just that, and more! These guys pump out freshly brewed Campos coffee and some of the most mouth-watering baked goods you’ll ever feast your eyes on. We’ll catch you there.
