There’s something about a bowl of fresh pasta that never fails to disappoint. Whether it’s spaghetti and meatballs, fettuccine carbonara or linguine marinara, we are eternally grateful for its existence.
With National Pasta Day just around the corner on October 17, we thought we’d present you with some of our favourite pasta dishes at South Bank.
1. Crab Linguine from South Beach Social
Everything is crazy delicious at South Beach Social, and their pasta is no exception. Featuring sand crab, garlic, chilli, tomatoes and a white wine butter sauce, their Crab Linguine is to die for. I mean seriously, WHITE WINE BUTTER, PEOPLE!
2. Beef Bolognese from Mister Paganini
When it comes to pasta, simple (and delicious) is always best. And what better way to bring on those nostalgic childhood mems than with a big old bowl of Spaghetti Bolognese. Made with beef bolognese, oregano and parmesan, this is a guaranteed winner.
3. Gnocchi di Ricotta al Fungi from Popolo
Popolo’s focus is all about dishes that can be shared and enjoyed together. The Gnocchi di Ricotta al Fungi is made with ricotta gnocchi, crushed hazelnuts, braised mushrooms, goats curd, sage and truffle pecorino – and trust us when we say, you won’t want to share this one.
4. Ravioles de Gambas et Bisque Legere from French Martini
With a French-inspired menu filled to the brim with mouth-watering authentic eats, French Martini is a winner in our books. Get your hands on their house-made ravioli stuffed with prawn mousse and a light and creamy bisque, and you’ll never look back.
5. Carbonara from Papa Rossi Ristorante
Known for their traditional Italian offerings, Papa Rossi Ristorante’s pasta is your best bet if you’re looking for a delicious staple. Our personal favourite? The Carbonara, so fresh yet SO CREAMY. This delicious dish also features pancetta and a white cream sauce… say no more.
