6 New Places to Try For Breakfast…

It’s the perpetual struggle, finding someplace new to go out to weekend breakfast. By the time you wake up from your well-deserved sleep-in, get dressed and actually decide on a place, well, you may just end up looking at their dinner menu! Fear not dear friends, we’ve rounded up restaurants who are anything BUT the usual suspects on your weekend brunch list and we guarantee there will be one on this list that you not only haven’t tried before but perhaps didn’t even know did breakfast…

1.Ole
Most people would be surprised to know that Ole serves up their famous fare in the AM as well on a Sunday. Indulge in some Spanish flavours such as the ‘Ole Benedict’ which includes poached eggs, jamon serrano, spinach, sourdough and hollandaise sauce on toast. Plus, did we mention they also have Spanish-style thick hot chocolate? Um, we’re there!

2. Baba Ganouj
Baba Ganouj continue their Lebanese menu with their breakfast offerings of delicious Sajs (think bacon, egg, mozarella and BBQ sauce) and Omelette with your choice of lamb mince or sausage, served with fresh bread. Definitely a new fave.

3. Mucho Mexicano
That’s right, this Mexican restaurant moonlights as a breakfast house in the mornings on a weekend. Take a seat and tuck into a tasty spread of Smashed Avo, Zucchini and Corn Fritters or – their specialty – ‘El Mucho Grande’ which features free range eggs, bacon, chorizo baked beans, tomato, hash browns and sourdough toast.

4. The Charming Squire
These guys are well-known for their brews and steaks, however, it is a little know fact that they also do a pretty damn good breakfast as well! Personally, we can never go past the ‘James Squire Big Breakfast’ which includes welsh rarebit, bacon, sausage, pulled pork, eggs, mushroom and tomato. If you like the sweeter things in life though, might we suggest the Eton Mess Doughnut Waffle with basil infused strawberries, strawberry cream and meringue.  We can guarantee you definitely won’t find that anywhere else in Brisbane!

5. Nonna’s Deli
Nonna’s is popular when it comes to a delish grab and go lunch, but did you know they also do brekky? Come down on the weekend and tuck into some premium breakfast fare. Along with doing the classics well (hello Eggs Benny!), they also have a wide selection of pastries as well.  Oh, and did we mention they serve Campos coffee? Done deal.

6. South Beach Social
If you are keen to try somewhere new for brekky, our friends at South Beach Social have just started serving up the most important meal of the day. They offer all your classic breakfast faves such as Eggs Benny, Brekky Burger, Waffles, plus good ol’ avo on toast. With epic views overlooking Streets Beach, we predict this will become a favourite with locals!
