While we’ve thoroughly enjoyed the culture kick that is watching every Netflix series under the sun is, we think it’s about time for a mix up in scenery. Well, aren’t we in luck! The Queensland Art Gallery has officially reopened, and our culture-loving hearts couldn’t be more excited.
The Queensland Art Gallery has officially reopened its doors to the public, with the Gallery of Modern Art set to open Friday 7 August. With new exhibitions, refreshed galleries and a more comfortable space to explore, you can rest assured you’re in for a great (and safe!) experience.
To ensure your experience is extra safe, there is a limited number of people allowed in the Gallery, increased cleaning frequency, hand washing and sanitiser facilities, and distance markers for queuing.
Now as for what free exhibitions you can enjoy, you’re in for an absolute treat! QAG’s ‘Mavis Ngallametta: Show Me the Way to Go Home’ is a retrospective of the work of the accomplished North Queensland artist, and ‘Errant Objects’ on the QAG Watermall, which features Ai Weiwei’s epic towering light installation, Boomerang 2006.
