Cha-cha-cha-changes. Like the majority of people, we aren’t massive fans of change, however when it comes to our fave restaurants shaking things up by offering fresh flavours and exciting taste combinations, then you can sign us right up! Here are the restaurants who have some exciting changes afoot when it comes to their menus…
Aquitaine Goes Back to its Roots
Aquitaine Brasserie is embracing traditional French cooking techniques and showcasing classic flavour combinations in their new Autumn menu. Our top picks are the grilled tiger prawns with shellfish reduction and basil and ricotta ravioli and the pan roasted lamb rack with rosemary and garlic. One taste of these dishes and you’ll think you’re in the French countryside, you know, only with an amazing view of the Brisbane River and city!
Cove Bar and Dining Introduces a Mediteranean Twist
Ever ahead of the crowd in terms of unexpected flavour combinations, Cove Bar and Dining have introduced a new menu with a distinct Mediterranean twist. Think vine ripened tomatoes, buratta cheese, rocket and aged balsamic glaze and blue swimmer crab cakes with a citrus chilli gribiche. And as for the chef’s personal favourite, that belongs to the Plum Tarte Ta’Tin with Gorgonzola Ice Cream (aha, you read that correctly!). As if we needed any further incentive to make a booking, Cove is also running a new lunch special throughout Autumn. Run, don’t walk!
A Modern Take on Southern Hospitality at Bourbon Street
If you’d like a taste of the Deep South without leaving Brisbane, look no further than Bourbon Street and its Louisiana Creole-style menu. This autumn you’ll find delicious modern flavours such as pan-seared snapper served with asparagus spears, creamy potato dauphinoise and hollandaise sauce. As for the traditionalists out there, never fear, you’ll still find the same southern taste combo’s you know and love such as the buttermilk fried chicken with sweet potato mash and pickles.
Pssst…we are giving away $200 a day to spend at participating South Bank restaurants until June 5th. Click here to learn more.
