Mucho Mexicano Set to Open in South Bank

There’s a new padre in town set to spice things up this month at South Bank.

Offering up a delicious and communal style menu, Mucho Mexicano is set to open for dinner on Monday, 13th June on Little Stanley St (previously where Che Asado was) and will showcase the best and freshest Mexican eats.

Self-proclaimed as vibrant, fresh, tasty and interactive, the food at Mucho Mexicano will delight those seeking out modern Mexican gastronomy.  On the menu are the usual suspects of street bites, burritos, tacos, mains, salads and desserts with Mucho Mexicano’s trademark twists on authentic Mexican dining and flavours.  Think Moreton Bay bug tostadas with avocado and avruga, Wagyu beef taco with grilled onion, horseradish salsa verde and truffled chicken quesadillas with queso and jalapeno.  Um, yum!

Plus, for those of you who are fans of ‘DIY’ing’ it , Mucho Mexicano are introducing ‘The Mother of All Tacos’ especially designed for building your own.  Enjoy three taco flavours – chipotle braised brisket, crispy pork belly and slow cooked lamb shoulder all served with tortillas, salsa fresca, guacamole and sour cream and DIY tostadas to share with corn chips, sauces, salsa, guacamole, sour cream, beef and pork.

Head Chef Wayne Mountford says “Its casual Mexican designed to be fun, vibrant and accessible.  Its communal eating with a spirit of sharing, feasting and fiesta and we know that Brisbane will love it!”

Alongside the delicious food offering will be a specialty range of tequilas and margaritas created in Brisbane’s first Margarita bar on the ground level of the restaurant.

Split over two levels, the ground floor dining room seats (indoor & outdoor) 150 guests and the upstairs ‘Piñata Room’ offers a function space for 60 stand up or 40 sit down.  To add to the fun and colourful atmosphere,  the pillars inside the restaurant are decorated with Mexican street art from local Brisbane artist Sarah Jane Bradley.

You can fiesta seven days a week at Mucho for lunch and dinner and word on the street is that they will be launching breakfast soon on Saturdays and Sundays.
