Tomahawk Beer

Best Beers on Tap

Happy International Beer Day! That’s right, it’s the holiday proving that there’s a holiday to celebrate pretty much everything these days! According to the extremely reliable source of Wikipedia, International Beer Day has three declared purposes:

1. To gather with friends and enjoy the taste of beer.
2. To celebrate those responsible for brewing and serving beer.
3. To unite the world under the banner of beer, by celebrating the beers of all nations together on a single day.

Never ones to forgo the celebration of a holiday, we thought we would compile a list of the best beers on tap that we’ve been enjoying at the moment…

We can always count on our friends at The Charming Squire to concoct some truly original brews. These ones are limited edition:

Dark Side Cherry Stout: An elegantly rich and full-bodied stout, with chocolate roast notes that are carried by a subtle dark-cherry heart. Brewed with 200kg of cherries sourced from Australian growers, this beer boasts big roast notes combined with dark chocolate and a subtle dark-cherry heart.

4 Hens Australian Lager: An Australian Lager brewed to be straw golden in colour. This popular brew boasts a malty sweetness with a firm bitterness to enhance and balance the passionfruit and vinacious aromatics of the Nelson Sauvin Hops.

Tomahawk are the kings of craft beer, always ensuring they have the very latest and greatest on tap. Two of our faves at the moment are:

Pirate Life Throwback IPA: A perfect solution for those who enjoy their IPA without the inflated alcohol content, this one from Pirate Life is seriously ‘hoppy’ and the perfect accompaniment to one’s Sunday Session.

Moondog Black Lung V: The Victorian boys from Moondog Brewing come up with some seriously interesting brews. Take this one for instance which is brewed with an array of dark malts and a touch of oat. The deep black colouring only adds to its allure, with a big smoky flavour underpinning each sip.

The good people over at Hop and Pickle are sure to look after you with their carefully curated picks on tap, such as these two:

Green Beacon Brewing Cross Knot Kolsch: This continental style bright ale direct from our own Tenerife is brewed using a combination of Australian and German barley malts, and a traditional top fermenting German yeast culture. This baby is clean, crisp and has soft herbaceous and mellow notes.

Rocks The Hangman Pale Ale: This American-inspired pale ale is bold in flavour and has an alluring aroma of citrus and pine. The biscuit malt profile with a firm bitterness is sure to leave you wanting more.
