We all know how hard it is to find a good vegetarian meal that doesn’t resemble something we would feed a rabbit. To help you out, we’ve done a round-up on the best vego meals in the precinct…and there’s no garden salad in sight!
Gandhi Indian Kitchen and Laneway Stall
Gandhi are well-known for their Lamb Korma and Butter Chicken, but their vegetarian curries are up there with some of the best! Our pick is their Punjabi Eggplant Curry which features eggplant (go figure!), potato and peas cooked with fresh coriander and spices.
Mado specialise in authentic Turkish fare, and with an extensive Vegetarian section in their menu, you definitely won’t only have one or two options at your disposal here. Our top pick though is the Imam Bayildi which literally translates into ‘Boat Eggplant.’ Think baked eggplant filled with sautéed vegetables and traditional spices, served with its own freshly baked Turkish bread plus rice and a side salad.
Viet De Lites
Viet De Lites spring rolls are the stuff of vego legends – and for good reason! Their Vegetarian Spring Rolls with Rice Vermicelli are served with lettuce, cucumber, bean sprout, mint, pickled carrot and roasted peanut on top. Trust us, this is one fresh and tasty dish.
If you can’t go past a great pasta, look no further than Popolo’s Ravioli con Zucca e Ricotta. It’s pumpkin and ricotta ravioli with amaretti crumble and sage butter. Pair this with the stunning river views and this will be one of the best vego meals you have had in a while.
Cucina is a restaurant that has something for everyone, so it’s no surprise they have some great options for the vegos among us. You can’t go past their Risotto which has roast pumpkin, leek, sweet peppers, basil and broken goats cheese. We’re drooling just thinking about it.
