Best Brunches in South Bank

Here at South Bank, brunch is one of our favourites and, not that we’re bragging or anything, but we have some of the best in the city!  Without further ado, we bring you the best brunches in the Bank…

The Charming Squire
If you think our friends at The Charming Squire are just masters of the brews, think again!  These guys know a thing (or ten) about the perfect breakfast. Our top picks include the ‘Breakfast Bruschetta’ with betroot relish, pumpkin and haloumi and the ‘Eggs Benedict’ which features poached eggs, hollandaise and your choice of ham or salmon on a buttery croissant. As for those of you who are, ahem, a little ‘under the weather’ from last night, you can’t go past the ‘James Squire Big Breakfast’ which has all the greasy makings of the perfect ‘morning after’ brekky, including bacon, sausage, pulled pork, eggs, mushroom and tomato, with some Welsh rarebit thrown in for good measure. Hot tip: they also have a rotating dessert special every weekend!

Next Door Kitchen & Bar
Next Door has come to the brunch party with some truly delicious offerings. Their Huevos rancheros with scrambled egg filled tacos, chorizo, avocado salsa and hot and smoky sauce is an absolute winner. As for those who want their brunch to see them through to dinner, you can’t go past the Pulled lamb ‘bubble & squeak,’ which consists of bacon, hollandaise and eggs your way.

South Bank Surf Club
If you are in search of brunch with a view…look no further than South Bank Surf Club. Enjoy your Avo and Feta Smash, Eggs Benny or Big Breakfast overlooking picturesque Streets Beach.  No that’s what we call a weekend well spent.

River Quay Fish
RQF has everything of which brunch dreams are made. Sweeping river views and a menu to die for- we can guarantee you will be looking for ways to extend your meal as long as possible here. With a substantial menu boasting a range of delicious brekky options, you are sure to find one perfectly suited to your tastes. Our pick though? We can’t go past  ‘Odin’s Breakfast Board,’ which features house made duck liver pate, Darling Downs air dryed wagyu, house made tomato chutney, smoked cheddar and cornichons with organic sourdough.

Denim Co.
If there’s one place that has us salivating over their Instagram every weekend, it’s Denim Co.  Recently moving to a pop-up space next to Zeus on Little Stanley Street while they undergo some exciting renovations, these guys specialise in good quality, tasty breakfast fare. Their offerings include assorted grab and go options such as bircher muesli cups and croissants as well as substantial dishes such as everyone’s favourite – the humble avo’ on toast. Perhaps their most famous brekky dish though is their ‘Golden Waffles’ complete with nutella and popcorn. Oh, and did we mention it’s an all-day breakfast menu? #winning
