When technology and food join forces, well, it’s a good day for everyone. For those techno-foodies out there, we have scoped out the best apps to make your life a whole lot more delicious..
1. JAMIE’S RECIPES
You can’t go past Jamie Oliver for fast, fresh and delicious midweek meals. For the beginner and adventurous expert alike, Jamie offers fool-proof recipes that elevate even the most humble of dishes (we’re looking at you bangers and mash!)
Cost: Free or $2.99 for subscription
2. EVERNOTE FOOD
For fans of the original Evernote, you will be loving their foray into food! This app will let you save recipes, find restaurants PLUS document and share all your dining experiences. Any food blogger/grammer worth their salt needs this app.
3. ASK THE BUTCHER
This app is akin to kidnapping your friendly local deli butcher and having him in your pocket to use at your disposal (except, you know, less creepy…). This app helps you to decipher cuts of meat and tells you how long to cook them for based on weight with its unique meat timer. It also includes recommended recipes based on the cut.
4. CLOSE-UP FOOD
This is the foodie’s version of Candy Crush. A complete time waster but utterly addictive! This game is all about guessing what type of food you are looking at close-up on the screen. Some of the answers will definitely surprise you.
This is a must have for the travelling foodie. Look up whatever you feel like in the translator so you can order that double-mocha-frappe-chino no matter where you are in the world!
Ever get home, feel like a cocktail and then realise you have 2 limes, some mint, a few spirits and zero clue what to do with them. Enter Mixologist which will tell you step by step how to make cocktails, based on what ingredients you actually have at your disposal.
7. NIGELLA QUICK COLLECTION
Love her or hate her, you’ve got to admit her recipes are the ultimate when it comes to indulgence food. Plus we also love how Ms Lawson is quite the fan of the ‘kitchen hack’ so you know her app will contain some seriously decadent but easy-to-make food.
