Widely regarded as one of the most beautiful of Mozart’s Masses, this work is a particular joy for the soprano voice.
Unusually this was not a commission for Mozart. Instead, he wrote this work for his own musical pleasure as a celebration of his marriage to Constanze, who was one of the soloists in an early performance.
The wit and brilliance of Beethoven’s First Symphony, peppered with classic Beethovian gestures, complements an evening that will be indeed, great.
